The Experiment continues…

Happy Holidays!!!!!

I wrote this at work today but our lovely network was having some serious problems and I couldn't post it. So I emailed it home and here it is.

RedSox here, filled with Christmas cheer. Well at least as much cheer as still being at work when virtually everyone else has left to begin his or her celebrations.

Actually, I’m pretty happy today. Boogieshoes and I are going to see my brother and his fiancée tonight. I haven’t seen my brother in nearly two years and I have never met his wife to be. I am really looking forward to it. It should be a nice evening.

Our festivities started on the 13th with out Special Olympic Christmas Blowout. And it did not disappoint. A bit more laid back than last year but enough drunken goofiness to be fun.

Then Tuesday we had Sock Momma over for a pre-Xmas gift exchange before she headed up to the North of Maine to be with her family. We had Chinese food, exchanged gifts, and watched the Saturday Night Live Christmas skit special. Doesn’t sound thrilling but it was a nice time hanging out with two of my favorite ladies.

Thursday was our annual “R” Place dinner and gift exchange with Purge and Tempest. It was really great seeing them. We even had the same table we have gotten every other year. This dinner is really becoming part of our Christmas routine and is something I look forward to each year.

Friday we went to Bar Queen’s house warming/Xmas party. We were a little nervous because we really didn’t know too many people that were going to be there but we had a really nice time. Bar Queen has a really nice little house down by the beach. They did a great job of fixing it up although they took down almost all the paneling. I’m sorry. I know it is weird. But I find wood paneling aesthetically pleasing. I can’t help it. It is sick and twisted but I just can’t stop myself…

Over the weekend we just finished up Xmas shopping, started to get the groceries we need for our part of Xmas dinner, and baked cookies. Lots of cookies.

Boogieshoes and I are the absolute worst when it comes to waiting until Xmas to give each other gifts. We NEVER make it until Xmas day. So far, we are hanging in there. But we did break down and give each other one gift last night. I got the Elvis 30 #1 Hits CD. Yes!!!!!! Score!!!! It is really a great CD. I mean, come on, it’s the King, how could it be bad? But the remastered everything and it just sounds great. Have I ever mentioned that I love the King!!!

I bought Boogieshoes some good gifts this year. Unfortunately, she already knows what half of them are. I let her pick out her main gift. I’m glad I did because she found something that she really likes. I have a few surprises for her but nothing like usual. I usually get yelled at for buying too much. This year will probably be no different.

I have one gift certificate left to get tonight and I am done. Done I say!!!! Now I just have to do my most favoritest part of Xmas, wrapping gifts. Feel the sarcasm.
